Dr. John Melancon
Dr. Melancon is a native of Southeast Texas and graduated from Port Neches-Groves High School in 1997. He then attended Texas A&M University in College Station were he earned a bachelor's degree in Wildlife and Fisheries Science in 2002 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 2008. After graduation he moved back to Southeast Texas to work as an associate veterinarian in Beaumont. In 2009 he moved to become a part of the Groves Veterinary Clinic family. He and his wife Morgan have two children, Harper and John. Dr. Melancon is a member of the AVMA, TVMA, and the SETVMA. When he's not working he enjoys duck hunting and fishing on Sabine lake and Toledo Bend.
Dr. Tillman Richey
Dr. Richey grew up in Port Arthur and graduated from Thomas Jefferson High School in 1968. He earned a bachelor's degree in Biology from Lamar University in Beamont before moving to College Station for his veterinary studies. He earned a bachelor's degree in Veterinary Science from Texas A&M University in 1974 and a Doctorate of Veterinary Medicine in 1975. After graduation he moved back to Southeast Texas and has practiced at the Groves Veterinary Clinic since 1978. Dr. Richey is a founding member of the Southeast Texas Animal Emergency Clinic. He and his wife Cheryl have two children, Josh and Kate, as well as two grandchildren. He enjoys spending time with his grandchildren as well as fishing and relaxing at Crystal Beach.
